7/31/08– Kinetic Koffee of Arcata, CA announced today that it will donate a percentage of all coffee sales in the month of August to World Bicycle Relief, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to independence and livelihood through The Power of Bicycles in impoverished areas throughout the world.

“We feel that bicycles are an important tool in the development of strong economies in developing nations, and World Bicycle Relief is doing a great job of putting them into the right hands, with the right support,” said General Manager Mark Ritz of Kinetic Koffee. “We are doing what we can to help them in their work.”

Kinetic Koffee will donate money based on sales to both their retail and wholesale customers.  We will donate $2 from every bag of coffee sold on the website for the month.  If a customer subscribes to our Koffee Club, we will donate $2 per bag for the entire length of the subscription.  So, if you sign up for a 12 month subscription, we will give $48 to World Bicycle Relief.

“A bicycle multiplies a person’s productivity when you compare it to walking,” according to F.K. Day, president of World Bicycle Relief. “We appreciate that Kinetic Koffee is lending its support to our efforts, knowing that each bicycle we can provide will make a difference in a person’s life.”

World Bicycle Relief specializes in large-scale, comprehensive bicycle programs by providing supply chain management, technical knowledge and logistics expertise to poverty relief and disaster assistance initiatives. To date, they have supplied more than 50,000 bicycles to poverty assistance and disaster relief initiatives.
